Swedish Squad Lineup: Alexander Isak Included While Viktor Gyokeres Omitted
Viktor Gyokeres moved to the Gunners from Sporting this summer
Gunners forward Viktor Gyokeres was left out from the new manager's first Swedish national squad, whereas Reds striker the talented attacker secured inclusion
The Arsenal forward is due to undergo additional medical tests this week following worries he suffered a muscle problem during the Gunners's English top flight triumph at the Clarets last weekend
The 27-year-old was absent from Arsenal' Champions League success against Slavia Prague earlier this week
Alexander Isak Returns
Isak, who hasn't featured since 22 October because of a groin injury, was selected to play in the World Cup games against the Swiss team (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (November 18th)
Additional Premier League Selections
- Tottenham playmaker the young talent, currently rehabilitating from a head injury
- Newcastle winger the Swedish international
These players are among the Premier League contingent selected under ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham manager Graham Potter
The New Manager's Role
The English manager was appointed by Sweden first on a short-term basis on 20 October, less than four weeks following leaving by West Ham
Previous manager Jon Dahl Tomasson was sacked after the national team's setback against Kosovo on 13 October, a result that ended straight qualification in Group B unattainable
Present Situation
The Swedish team are currently bottom in Group B with just one point in their opening four games
Even if they don't manage to secure second place, they could still participate in the qualification playoffs as a result of their results during the previous UEFA competition
