Norris Tops Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten Oscar Piastri at each of the previous five race weekends.
Lando Norris narrowly beat fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the fastest time in the closing stages of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who took the title advantage from Piastri by a single point after winning in Mexico City a fortnight back, outpaced the Australian by 0.023 seconds.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver during the running before the sprint shootout scheduled for the evening session.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the championship fight, trailing with a 36-point deficit Norris, was classified in 17th place as his team ran a unique setup.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, if briefly, when he rotated at Turn Four soon after starting.
Tsunoda slid over the exit kerbs before spinning across the run-off area, and was blessed to escape with just a slight brush of the barrier.
The Ferrari of the seven-time champion also spun, at the final moments of the session, spinning around through the fast downhill corner before the last turn on to the main straight.
The seven-time champion finished practice in P19, one place behind teammate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren drivers were far ahead of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's car third fastest, over half a second off the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was fourth fastest, with Sauber's Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of George Russell and the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
