Netflix Chooses Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the major clash won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bentham. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that figure reimagined as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.

This performer joins several other new cast members set to bring the group to reality, including head Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.

Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest additional alterations to the story’s structure.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
