Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, but will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
