Brian Eno Urges Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to send support to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The song was recorded after a solidarity show held in September. First conceived to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All participated in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was crafted by a team of producers and composers. The song showcases a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The group managing the initiative have emphasized that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These resources will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all raising awareness for this issue and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
